We are searching for an experienced Banquet Manager who will provide our clients with a unique banquet experience. As a Banquet Manager, you will meet with clients and execute their wishes and requirements regarding their events. This means you will be responsible for planning and organizing catering, venue setup, decorations, menu and beverage selection, etc. You will also negotiate contract details with banquet sales directors, head chefs, and suppliers, hire and supervise staff members, and schedule multiple banquet operations.
Your main goal will be to ensure absolute client satisfaction with the services provided. Your other responsibilities will include, calculating event budgets and labor costs and assisting in menu and beverage selection.
Our ideal candidate for this position must have exceptional communication, negotiation, event planning, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage multiple tasks regarding planning and organizing events, such as catering, venue selection, decorations, etc
- Coordinate and monitor banquet operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution
- Communicate with clients regarding their requirements, wishes and preferences
- Hire, train, and supervise staff members involved in the event (servers, chefs, decorators, bartenders, caterers…)
- Discuss and negotiate contract details with banquet sales directors, head chefs, vendors, and supplies
- Book and plan the appropriate venue according to the number of guests and the type of event
- Organize and supervise the placement of tables, chairs, plates, cutlery, centerpieces, and other details
- Assist in menu and beverage selection and offer suggestions
- Monitor the serving of meals and beverages
- Schedule and assign operations of banquet staff
- Monitor the availability of liquor and other supplies
- Calculate event budgets and labor costs and maintain budget records
- Collect feedback from clients and ensure satisfaction with the services provided
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, hotel management, culinary arts, or a related field
- Prior working experience as a Banquet Manager, Restaurant Manager, or a similar position
- Exceptional ability to plan, organize, and execute various types of banquet events
