We are hiring an experienced Cable Technician to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure for satellite, television, and internet systems. You will install and optimize television and internet technology devices and support infrastructure and safely utilize various power and hand tools and other equipment. You will identify and replace faulty cabling and troubleshoot issues with cable systems.
Your job will also involve inspecting and testing cable lines to ensure they are working properly, adhering to cable installation procedures and safety rules and standards, and providing immaculate customer service to ensure final satisfaction. In the end, you will complete and maintain the required paperwork, such as timesheets and service orders.
As a Cable Technician, you should have excellent technical and safety expertise and communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Duties and responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cable infrastructure, such as satellite, internet, and television systems for residential and business properties
- Identify and remove redundant and faulty cabling
- Install and optimize television and internet technology devices
- Adhere to cable installation procedures and principles
- Operate and manage various power and hand tools and other equipment
- Install support infrastructure, such as cable racks and j-hooks
- Identify problems and issues with cable infrastructure and provide suitable solutions
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install cable trays
- Set up and operate copper and fiber optic equipment
- Inspect and test cable lines to ensure they are working properly
- Adhere to safety rules and regulations and keep the working area neat and tidy
- Complete and maintain the required paperwork, such as timesheets and service orders
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completed apprentice or training program for Cable Technician
- Previous working experience as a Cable Technician or a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of electric and installation systems and infrastructure
