We are looking for an organized and motivated Assistant Superintendent as a reinforcement to our team. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be assisting the Superintendent with monitoring the implementation of construction projects and activities from beginning to end. You will also be responsible for ensuring all projects and activities are performed within timelines and budgets. Additionally, you will prepare, maintain, and update construction and project reports and paperwork.
Your most important responsibility as an Assistant Superintendent is to make sure all safety and health procedures and guidelines are being followed. You will also perform periodic quality control and safety inspections. In order to be successful as an Assistant Superintendent, you should have excellent communication, computer, problem-solving, project management, and flexibility skills.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist Superintendent with all construction projects and activities
- Oversee the field personnel to ensure project completion within schedule and budget
- Schedule construction activities and projects
- Monitor inventory, supplies, and equipment, and make orders when necessary
- Ensure adherence with development, architectural, and engineering plans
- Conduct quality control inspections and performance evaluations
- Conduct safety inspections
- Meet with clients and discuss their requirements and criteria
- Prepare, maintain, and update construction and project reports and other paperwork
- Make sure the construction site has sufficient manpower and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all safety measures and guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or a related field
- Prior working experience in a construction field as an Assistant Superintendent, or a similar position
- Ability to monitor and handle multiple projects
- Strong knowledge of safety and health standards and guidelines
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication
- Efficient problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility and willingness to travel
