We are currently looking for someone creative and innovative to join our team as a Cosmetologist. What education this role needs.
For a Cosmetologist a high school diploma, or equivalent, is generally required as a basic educational foundation. Prospective cosmetologists must then complete a state-approved cosmetology program, typically offered by vocational schools, community colleges, or specialized cosmetology schools. These programs cover essential skills in hair, skin, and nail care, and often take between nine months and two years to complete, depending on whether the student is attending part-time or full-time.
Following the completion of formal education, cosmetologists must pass a licensing exam, which usually includes both a written and a practical component, as mandated by their state. Continuing education is also necessary in many states to maintain licensure and stay updated on new techniques, trends, and regulations within the beauty industry.
